    Brunei, Japan establish energy transition cooperation

    The signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) between the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on the realisation of energy transition was held at the International Conference Room, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan yesterday.

    Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah signed on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, while Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito Ken signed on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

    After the signing ceremony, Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew made a call on Ken. Both sides expressed deep appreciation on the warm and close relations between the Sultanate and Japan, underpinned by long-standing cooperation in areas such as economic, trade and investment, and energy.

    The two sides also looked forward to further advance the energy cooperation through the signed MoC in realising the energy transition efforts of the two countries.

    Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos; Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Mohammad Nizam bin Haji Ismi; and Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Japan Haji Shahbudin bin Haji Musa were also present.
