Brunei-Iran judicial cooperation discussed in courtesy call

The Syariah Courts under the State Judiciary Department at the Prime Minister’s Office welcomed a courtesy visit from Ambassador of Iran to Brunei Darussalam Mohammad Taghi Rajabi yesterday.

The ambassador was received by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Syariah High Court Judges Haji Hassan bin Haji Metali and Haji Muhammad Bahrin bin Haji Alias, along with the Acting Chief Registrar of the Syariah Court of Appeal were also present.

During the visit, the Chief Syar’ie Judge and ambassador exchanged views and experiences on legal and judicial matters.

The discussion underscored the shared commitment to enhancing understanding and cooperation in the field of law and justice between the Sultanate and Iran.

Both parties exchanged souvenirs, symbolising the relationship between the two nations.  – Fadley Faisal
