The Brunei History Centre (PSB), through the Borneo Research Centre (penBorneo), is holding the 10th series of the Borneo History Lecture programme themed ‘Sejarah Masa Silam Pemangkin Belia Masa Depan’.
The programme began yesterday and will continue tomorrow.
Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony.
The day also saw Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Dr Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong as the Principal of PSB deliver a keynote speech.
PSB Acting Deputy Principal II Muhammad Faisal bin Haji Mat Salleh said the Borneo History Lecture programme has been conducted since 2015 and formerly known as penBorneo lecture session.
The programme aims to improve the historical reference material collections. It also serves as a platform to promote penBorneo and provides an understanding of the importance of the study and research of history.
Seven speakers from Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan have been invited to the lecture programme.
