With the arrival of the first batch of Pfizer oral antiviral pills to treat COVID-19 patients in Singapore recently, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar confirmed that the Brunei Government has made a similar procurement.

The minister said the pills are expected to arrive by the end of this month or early March, adding that the government has also purchased the Molnupiravir pills from Merck.

Meanwhile, on the recent delay for bracelet removal of close contacts or positive cases isolating at home, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said the delay was due to the increase in the number of positive cases.

The minister also shared that the Ministry of Health (MoH) will no longer be imposing the wearing of these bracelets starting this week as their BruHealth app on their phones will suffice.

“Going forward, positive cases will no longer be wearing the bracelets starting this week, but for those who are already wearing them, they will have to wait for MoH officials to call and witness the removal,” he added.
