The Brunei Darussalam Golf Association (BDGA) is sending a team of four local golfers to compete in the Southeast Asian Amateur Golf Team Championship 2023 for the 60th Putra Cup, 14th Lion City Cup, 12th Santi Cup and 8th Kartini Cup at Mines Resort and Golf Club, Malaysia from today until August 24.
The Sultanate is represented by experienced and young golfers – Bryan Chiew, Awangku Muhammad Syakir bin Pengiran Haji Alli, Irwan Hamid and Qawi Aslimon – led by coach Pengiran Wira bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Salleh.
Golfers from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will also be teeing off in the competition.
The format of play for Putra Cup, Lion City Cup and Santi Cup are 72-hole Stroke play (team and individual). – James Kon
