“It is heartening to witness how the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) has embraced challenges and being resilient to ensure sustainability of girl guiding in the country. We are proud of PPPBD for engaging more actively regionally and globally in recent years,” said World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Asia-Pacific Chair Chempaka Emalin Pahamin at the closing ceremony of ‘Share Learn Grow’ International Programme.
She added, “The saying that it takes a community to raise a child holds equally true for nurturing a region. In Asia-Pacific Region, we are exceptionally fortunate to have this community comprised of member organisations and their dedicated members with visionary leaders as well as passionate women.”
The six-day programme was organised by the PPPBD at Mulia Hotel in the capital.
Some 210 participants from nine countries – Brunei, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore – joined the event, to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, stimulate cooperation and leadership between generations and getting to know the Sultanate.
