The Brunei Futsal League 2023 kicked off amid much fanfare at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Sports Complex last night. The league returns after a lengthy break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first week of fixtures saw strong challengers Kasuka & Ar Rawda facing the unfancied PES as both bid to snatch three points in the table.
The last instalment of the league was previously held in 2021, but it only lasted for two months following the second wave of the pandemic.
Last year, futsal activities resumed following the launch of the Brunei Futsal Cup, which was won by MS ABDB, now known as Perwira.
The competition will continue with a match between Arbisyam FC and GG-Indera SC Futsal at the Ministry of Defence next Monday.
Deputy Director of Youth and Sports Haji Rosfadillah bin Haji Yusli was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony.
Also present were Football Association of Brunei Darussalam Executive Committee members.
