Brunei Futsal League kicks off

The much-anticipated Brunei Futsal League kicked off with the opening round of the Brunei Elite Futsal League (BEFL) amid much fanfare at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.

Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan officiated the launch of the Division 1 opening match.

During the event, the permanent secretary was introduced to the eight participating teams who will be playing in the BEFL.

The Division 1 will feature the best teams in the country including reigning holders Kasuka Ar Rawda, MS ABDB, Almerez HiTune FC, Kota Ranger FC, Shah United, Arbisyam FT, DDT FT and Kampung Buangkok FC from Singapore.

The Brunei Futsal League 2024/2025 edition is organised by Yakin Football League and sponsored by HiTune Group of Companies as well as supported by the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD).

The championship is divided into BEFL and Brunei Premier Futsal League (BPFL). The second tier of the country’s futsal pyramid will feature 10 teams.

The first match of BEFL saw Kampung Buangkok FC take on Kasuka Ar Rawda FC and continued with Almerez HiTune FC taking on Kota Ranger in the next match. – Fadhil Yunus
