Brunei Fertiliser Industries Sdn Bhd (BFI) joined the distinguished ranks of the IFA Industry Stewardship Champion (IFC) awarded by the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), joining an exclusive group of fertiliser companies worldwide that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable practices.
Acting Deputy CEO of BFI Hajah Nur Raihan binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Rosli and Head of Operations of BFI Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ibrahim bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar received the award from CEO and Director General of IFA Alzbeta Klein at the IFA Cultivating Tomorrow 2025 Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
BFI is the country’s premier ammonia and urea plant and also one of the largest single train fertiliser plants in Southeast Asia.
Established in October 2013 and fully owned by the Government of Brunei Darussalam, BFI’s state-of-the-art plant sits in Sungai Liang Industrial Park in the Belait District and specialises in the production and export of granular urea fertiliser.
The achievement is directly aligned with Brunei Vision 2035 which focuses on cultivating a dynamic and sustainable economy, diversifying opportunities in the downstream oil and gas industry, and fostering a skilled workforce.
The milestone is also a reflection of BFI’s relentless pursuit of best-in-class practices, the strength of its unified team, and the company’s shared purpose to making a difference, with Bruneian roots.
