Brunei Darussalam’s under-19 national team fell to a 4-0 defeat to Vietnam in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-19 Boys’ Championship at the Patriot Candrabhanga Stadium in Bekasi, Indonesia last night.

The result meant Brunei stay bottom of Group ‘A’ with three successive defeats and without a single point to their name.

Vietnam took the lead in the 12th minute after Ha Chau Pi guided the ball into the net following a corner taken by Thai Van Thao.

The Young Golden Star Warriors doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute after captain Dang Tuan Phong nodded the ball into an empty net, as Thai Van Thao was credited with another assist.

Meanwhile, an earlier kick-off saw Myanmar defeated the Philippines 3-1 at the Madya Senayan Stadium.

The Young Wasps will continue their campaign against Thailand tomorrow before concluding their group stage against Philippines two days later.
