Brunei e-sport teams shine in regional meets

Brunei’s e-sport teams did the country proud by capturing two championships and a second place in two separate e-sport competitions in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Brunei’s PUBG Mobile team managed to secure first place in MyBorneo E-Force Invitational 2.0 that took place in Kuching, Sarawak from March 16-19.

The Brunei PUBG Mobile members comprise Muhd Safwan Hakimi bin Abdullah Husaini, Muhamad Hadif Fadhli bin Haji Sufari, Muhamad Danial Hadhrami Safiuddin bin Muhaimin, Muhamad Danish Haqeeme Hizami bin Muhaimin and Awangku Muhd Haziq bin Pengiran Haji Redzuan.

Meanwhile, Brunei Mobile Legends Bang Bang team came in second place, after losing to ShineX from Kuching in the final.

The team comprised Haji Muhd Asyraf bin Haji Musa, Muhd Hairol Arif Thane bin Muhamad Khairul Amin, Muhamad Khairin Adrian bin Haji Khuzairi Azmi, Muhamad Adrian bin Denny Hadillah and Mohd Adi Haikal Azizi bin Mohd Khairul Nazri.

The Esports Association of Brunei (ESB) PUBG Mobile team (ESB team 1) also emerged winners in the Sarawak Esports Championship 2023 held in conjunction with MyBorneo E-Force Invitational 2.0.

Secretary General at Esports Association of Brunei said, “Our association is proud for the achievement of both our teams. PUBG Mobile team manage to show their consistency after their triumph in the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Championship 2022 and managed to carry the same momentum to Kuching.

“The Mobile Legends Bang Bang team also showed positive result as they exceeded our expectation of fourth place by finishing second.”

“We hope our athletes can continue to work hard and show commitment to their training routine to go for higher level competitions.”
