Brunei detects 546 new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam detected 546 new COVID-19 cases yesterday where 538 are from antigen rapid tests (ARTs) and eight from 280 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Sultanate to 155,274 cases.

This was revealed by the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday.

Some 379 cases were declared recovered bringing the number of recoveries to 151,603 while the total active cases are 3,446.

The ministry said there are two cases in Category 5 requiring treatment in intensive care unit and three patients in Category 4 needing respiratory assistance and under close monitoring.

The COVID-19 vaccination rate for children aged five to 11 is 84.3 per cent with at least one dose and 69.6 per cent with two shots. The coverage rate of Brunei population with three doses is 72 per cent.
