The Putrajaya Forum 2022 convened during the second day of the 17th Defence Services Asia (DSA) exhibition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) yesterday.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, attended the Putrajaya Forum 2022 themed ‘Shared Regional Responsibility’ officiated by Senior Defence Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein.
The forum draws participation from defence and security agencies, think tanks and academics, where ideas were shared to promote understanding on regional and international defence and security issues as well as the possibilities of broadening security cooperation.
The forum also highlighted the adaptation to new security realities in the development of civil-military cooperation as well as the paradigm shifts of social media and its effect on wars and conflicts.
High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin @ Haji Md Saidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and RBAF were also present.
Prior to attending the Putrajaya Forum 2022, the Minister of Defence II held a bilateral meeting over breakfast with Singapore’s Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
