Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council (BDAIDSCouncil) yesterday paid a visit to the Pengasih Malaysia Association at its Cinta Manis Complex in Pahang, Malaysia.
Pengasih Malaysia Association President Hafizi bin Harun welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the association’s achievements and types of services it offers.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with executive members of the association as well as residents of the complex.
The Pegasih Malaysia Association was formed in 1991 by a group of former drug addicts with the belief that drug addiction can be overcome and is preventable.
To date, the association has assisted thousands of recovering addicts as well as ventured deeply into providing treatment and recovery from substance abuse.
The seven-member delegation from the BDAIDSCouncil are in Malaysia to explore effective strategies to enhance public awareness on HIV/AIDS and are meeting with non-govermental organisations providing related services, programmes and activities.
