Bruneian chefs Rohana binti Mahmud and Hardey bin Haji Husain, who were among hundreds of international participants in the 3rd Global Culinary Challenge Malaysia (GCCM) from July 2 to 4 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earned podium finishes.
Rohana won gold medal and Champion Cup in the chicken rendang category and bronze medal in beef rendang category while Hardey won silver in chicken rendang and bronze in lamb rendang categories.
According to GCCM, the competition with over 300 chefs from Brunei, Malaysia, China, India, Morocco and Indonesia, was aimed at promoting culinary skills and food culture.
It also provided a platform for participants to interact and share their experience with other like-minded chefs. – Daniel Lim
