Brunei’s bodybuilders showcased impressive performances at the 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Batam City, Indonesia. The event from August 6 to 12, was organised by Datuk Paul Chua in cooperation with the Indonesian Bodybuilding Fitness Federation.
The tournament was sanctioned by the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation and the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation.
Zorizal bin Haji Johari led the Brunei team and won the men’s bodybuilding up to 70-kilogramme (kg) category. He also finished second in the master 40-49 years category, up to 80kg division. Meanwhile, Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Latif finished seventh place in the men’s bodybuilding, to 65kg category and fifth in the master 40-49 years, 80kg division, while in the men’s athletic physique categories, Kamaluddin bin Yanau secured fifth place in the 160-centimetre (cm) division and Md Yazid bin Md Taib finished eighth in the 175cm category.
Zuraiman bin Haji Jaman also competed in the men’s sports physique 170cm category, where he finished seventh. – Fadley Faisal
