    Brunei attends Manama Dialogue 2024

    Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof is leading a delegation from the Ministry of Defence to the Manama Dialogue 2024 in Bahrain from December 6 to today.

    Organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the annual security forum gathered senior officials, policymakers, military leaders and experts from world-renowned research institutions to address various security challenges in the Middle East and beyond.

    This year’s theme, ‘Middle East Leadership in Shaping Regional Prosperity and Security’, focused on regional security, conflict resolution, peace initiatives and defence modernisation.

    His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister of Bahrain hosted an official reception on the first day of the dialogue to welcome all delegations.

    The next day, the dialogue began with a keynote address by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia where His Highness highlighted the critical importance of diplomacy and international law in resolving conflicts, including the Israel-Palestine conflict.

    The event also featured expert presentations and plenary sessions. – James Kon
