Brunei veteran athletes won three medals in the recent 22nd Asia Masters Athletics Championship in Clark City Capas Tarlac, Philippines.
Alinawati binti Haji Aliakbar grabbed silver in high jump and bronze medal in javelin throw, while Salman Sigar won bronze in shot put.
The tournament saw 22 Asian countries competing, with more than 3,000 athletes including eight from Brunei. Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Pungut as team manager from Brunei Masters Athletes Association led the contingent.
The athletes will compete in the Thailand Masters Championship 2024 in Sakhon Nakhon in February and Chiangmai Open Masters 2024 in April. – Azlan Othman
