Nine veteran athletes of Brunei Masters grabbed seven golds, two silvers and two bronzes in a Open Athletics and Masters Game in Chiang Mai, Thailand held from February 27 to March 2.
Alinawati binti Haji Aliakbar grabbed three gold medals in javelin, shot put and high jump while Pengiran Azizulakbar bin Pengiran Haji Badaruddin also walked away with three golds in shot put, discus and hammer throw.
Meanwhile Haji Zainal bin Haji Namit took one gold medal in javelin while Kuan Siggar walked away with one silver in javelin, and two bronzes in the 100-metre run and long jump. The athletes were led by Team Manager Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin.
The athletes will also participate in the Taiwan Masters Open in April and Sri Lanka International Masters in May 2024. – Azlan Othman
