Brunei Darussalam national sprinter Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rasyid bin Haji Mohd Idris bagged a silver medal in the Tawau Open Athletics Championships in Tawau, Malaysia recently.
The national sprinter clocked a time of 10.73s in the men’s 200-metre open category, an improvement from his time of 10.81s at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Meanwhile, the national team comprising the quartet of Muhd Haaziq, Abdul Hakeem, Abdul Aqil and Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rasyid clinched silver in the 4×100-metre event after posting a time of 46.07s.
The two-day long competition contested under-12, under-15, under-18, open (19-44 years); and open (45 and above years) categories.
The competition was organised by the Tawau Sports Complex with the cooperation of Sabah’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Tawau District Education Office, Sabah State Sports Council, Sabah Athletics Association and Goricel United. – Fadhil Yunus
