Brunei Darussalam’s leading obstacle course racing competitor Muhammad Adid bin Abdul Kadir made the country proud after winning the gold medal in the sprint event of the Spartan Vietnam Sprint at the Hung Kings Memorial Park in the Binh A District recently.

The local athlete clocked a time of 35:41s to finish top of his age group (30-34 years) and sixth overall.

He also qualified for the World Spartan Championship in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates which will be held in December after finishing second place overall in the 2022 SEA Regional Series. Muhammad Adid has previously enjoyed podium finishes in Sarawak and Chiang Mai earlier this year to stay in firm contention for the world meet.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Zulkernean bin Haji Tohara claimed the gold medal in his age group (50-54 years) for the same competition. Three Bruneians registered for the event including Zainal Arif bin Haji Zainal Abidin, who was in the same age group as Adid.
