The 11th bilateral meeting between the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia, focused on strengthening cooperation in customs administration and addressing mutual interests.

It also looked at facilitating cross-border trade, securing control posts, and combating smuggling activities at borders and in territorial waters.

The RCED delegation toured the Royal Malaysian Customs Academy (AKMAL) in Langkawi, a regional training centre recognised by the World Customs Organization (WCO). The academy provides training and supports enforcement operations in waterways. The delegation also visited the Customs Marine Base in Langkawi to observe its facilities and patrol operations.

Acting Director of RCED Muhammad Azizil Hakim bin Haji Brahim co-chaired the meeting. Director General of RMCD Dato’ Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin and senior officers from both departments were also present.
