    Brunei academics visit Malaysian universities

Nine academics from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), led by UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal and Dean of Faculty of Usuluddin Professor Dato’ Dr Md Fakrudin bin Haji Abdul Mokti, visited the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) recently. The visit was an initiative by the Faculty of Usuluddin at UNISSA to acquire more experience and enhance the teaching and learning quality, particularly for Quranic and Usuluddin courses at the university. The visit was an opportunity for the delegation to learn and broaden their network with their overseas’ counterparts.

The visit was also aimed to strengthen the relations between UNISSA and higher learning institutions in Malaysia, particularly with those who have inked the memorandum of understanding or memorandum of agreement with the university.

During the visit to USIM, the delegation toured the Ibnu Ummi Maktum Research Centre (UMMI), that has published several reference sources on Al-Quran for Braille and Al-Quran for those with hearing impairment.

While at UIAM, the delegation was also briefed on Al-Quran courses on offer. – Rokiah Mahmud
