The Ministry of Health’s BruHealth app won the 21st Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) award for Inclusion and Community Services – Health and Wellbeing category.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar expressed gratitude for the international recognition of the app during a press conference yesterday.
“The information communication technology (ICT) or the digital era must be further empowered,” said the minister.
He said the win was not just about the ministry, but the whole nation as it is a system that has proven itself during its widespread adoption in the country.
The minister said they are very grateful for the commitment from the public and the government for using the app to help control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“More importantly, the use of BruHealth will empower every person in the country to increase their self-understanding of their health,” he said. “With the app, we will be able to share more knowledge about health in a better way, without leaving anyone behind.”
