Bringing smiles to the underprivileged

The Ministry of Energy, its departments and associated statutory bodies yesterday held a charity drive for 60 underprivileged families through Infaq Kasih Ramadhan Project, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra led the distribution of donations, comprising basic necessities contributed by the officers and staff of the ministry, its departments and statutory bodies.

The three-day charity drive, coordinated by the ministry’s Human Resource and Corporate Division, saw the distribution of the items to selected staff of the ministry and Department of Electrical Services (DES) via drive-through at the Prime Minister’s Office building complex last Saturday.

The event continued on Monday and yesterday, where the committee members and volunteers from the Ministry of Energy, DES, Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, and Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) distributed donations to underprivileged families in the Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait districts. The annual charity drive was aimed at instilling the value of generosity among the ministry workforce through
good deeds.
