Bringing comfort, luxury to a new level

NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd, the authorised Toyota vehicle distributor in the Sultanate, unveiled the all-new 2023 Toyota Alphard yesterday, bringing comfort and luxury to a whole new level.

First appearing in 2002, Toyota Alphard has long been established for its luxury and renowned for interior comfort. Two variants of the fourth-generation Alphard – Turbo 2.4 and Natural Aspirated (NA) 2.5 – are available in the Brunei market.

‘Alphard’, which means the brightest star in the constellation, lives up to its namesake as the latest model is a head turner.

The new generation bears inherited elegance, a value that allows passengers to immerse themselves in a premium and exceptional atmosphere when travelling.

The expansive interior of the all-new Alphard makes passengers feel like they are in the cabin of a private jet.

The executive power seats of both variants are equipped with black leather – genuine leather for the 2.4 Turbo and synthetic leather for the NA 2.5. The entire cabin from top to bottom is also furnished in black, projecting a high-quality ambience suitable for formal and active lifestyles.

The infotainment system display has increased to 14 inches with 15 JBL speakers and with lesser button points, allowing both the driver and the front passenger to have better controls and navigation.

The dashboard is now a 12.3-inch full graphic metre compared to the previous analogue with a 3.5-inch MID. The all-new Alphard has two types of decorative stitching on the side – silver trimming for Turbo 2.4 and bronze trimming for NA 2.5.

The latest model prioritises a luxurious and comfortable customer experience, emphasising true hospitality. Previously, lighting, switches and air conditioning vents were positioned on the sides of the ceiling. The fourth-generation Alphard has a roof-length overhead console that consolidates fixtures at the centre.

Not only does it streamline the design but also creates improved convenience for passengers. Occupants from any seat can open and close windows and power side sunshades as well as adjust line cabin lighting with 64-colour variations, all from the centre overhead.

Both all-new Alphard models have increased body rigidity – by 150 per cent, giving a more stable and comfortable ride.

Offering more superior in comfort and luxury comes in the Turbo 2.4 which is known for the Executive Lounge where the drivers and passengers of the Executive Lounge have more features to enjoy, giving a more luxurious and seamless experience. Unlike the 2.5 NA, the Turbo 2.4 has a left and right independent moon roof while the other has none. Passengers in the second row enjoy more exclusivity. Each seat has its own detachable touch display allowing seat occupants to access some controls remotely such as adjusting windows and sunshades. They can also enjoy some screen time from the overhead 14-inch rear seat entertainment (RSE).

Moreover, for a more comfortable driving experience, the steering wheel is equipped with a touch tracer as well as a head-up display (HUD) projected onto the windscreen.

The Turbo 2.4 is powered by a four-cylinder, inline, 16-Valve DOHC, chain drive (with Dual VVT-i) turbocharged petrol engine with an 8-Speed auto transmission. It has a maximum power of 275 HP and a maximum torque of 430 Nm.

Meanwhile, the NA 2.5 is a 7-Speed CVT auto transmission powered by a four-cylinder, inline, 16-Valve DOHC, chain drive (with Dual VVT-i) petrol engine. It has a maximum power of 180 HP and a maximum torque of 235 Nm. – James Kon
