Bringing back the tradition

Lyna Mohamad

The lion dance is commonly performed by the Chinese in the local businesses community during the New Year as it is believed to bring better profit and success for the company.

The tradition was seen at AIFA Sdn Bhd yesterday at its head office at the Lambak Kanan Industrial Area as the Chinese New Year entered its second day of celebration.

AIFA Managing Director Dr Andy Lau and his family members were present.

AIFA invited 30 members of the lion dance troupe from Chung Hwa Middle School who performed the “Wu Shi” (lion dance) accompanied to the beat of the drums and gongs, with the dancers showcasing their acrobatic moves. The tradition was on a brief halt due to the COVID -19 pandemic.

This year lion dances are performed as celebrations return to normal.
