Nineteen teams representing 11 government departments from the Belait District participated in the Ten Pin Bowling Tournament on March 1 at the GoStrike Bowling Company in Seria.
Organised by the Belait District Branch of the Youth and Sports Department, the tournament was held in several categories, including novice, women, senior men, and teams.
Hospital Suri Seri Begawan Hospital ‘B’ secured first place with a total of 1994 pins knocked down in the Team category.
In second place with 1879 pins was the Islamic Studies Department ‘A’ while the Public Works Department ‘B’ was placed third with 1856 pins. The top three teams received medals and trophies from Acting Head of the Youth and Sports Department in the Belait District Branch Gaung Jamit, the guest of honour.
The department hopes the tournament helped provide opportunities in bringing together government officers and staff members who share the same passion for the sports to further hone their skills, while also promoting friendly sportsmanship and the leading of a healthy lifestyle. – Daniel Lim
