Boost for tourism with upcoming bike festival

The Sultanate will host the 21st Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF) introducing the Bruneian identity and enjoying a peaceful and prosperous life in a Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) country.

It will also promote the Sultanate and the capital as a tourist destination, supporting the tourism industry and MSME entrepreneurs through the festival which will bring some 700 local and foreign participants.

This was highlighted by Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA) Vice President Shahrin bin Shahbudin in his capacity as the Chairman of the 21st BIIBBF during a press conference at the Lodge Hotel in Jerudong.

This marks the sixth time Brunei is playing host to the festival, jointly organised by PEMODA and the Tourism Development Department of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

Activities during the festival include Green Heart of Borneo Ride, Road Safety Awareness Programme and booths by vendors with the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital as the main location from December 8 to 10.

Participants will also have the opportunity to ride around the Sultanate, including passing landmarks such as the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge. – Lyna Mohamad
