A muzakarah session on preserving Jawi writing in Brunei Darussalam between Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Centre for Jawi Studies and Traditional Islamic Manuscripts and Language and Literature Bureau under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was held recently.
KUPU SB Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani and officials from the Centre for Jawi Studies and Traditional Islamic Manuscripts as well as the Language and Literature Bureau attended the muzakarah session held at KUPU SB. The event reflects the efforts of KUPU SB through the Centre for Jawi Studies and Traditional Islamic Manuscripts in collaboration with other government agencies in elevating Jawi writing and traditional Islamic manuscripts.
This is also as a step to support His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s aspiration to strengthen and elevate the heritage of Jawi writing. – James Kon
