The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brunei Darussalam (NCCIBD) took a significant step towards fostering international collaboration and advancing economic cooperation with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee at Aman Hills Hotel yesterday.
The collaborative endeavour between NCCIBD and CCPIT Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee attracted the presence of other notable local entrepreneurs from Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPPMB) and Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC).
NCCIBD President Haji Abdul Saman bin Haji Ahmad and Primary Inspector for CCPIT Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee Wei Hong initiated the ceremony with opening remarks.
This was followed by a presentation by CCPIT Inner Mongolia Autonomois Region Committee on Inner Mongolia Dekelong Commercial and Trading Co Ltd, Inner Mongolia Jiuke Environmental Protection Science & Technology Co Ltd and Grassland Silk Road Chamber of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The MoU was signed by Haji Abdul Saman and Wei Hong.
Haji Abdul Saman said, “The MoU will help commit to closely work together for common goal as well as to enhance trade and economic cooperation, in agriculture and agrifood and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“It is an important event to advance partnership, support and cooperation and marks another milestone to achieve common goals, mission and vision.”
Meanwhile, Wei Hong said, “Brunei Darussalam and China are friendly neighbours and China is a top trading partner for the Sultanate.
“The primary objective of the MoU is to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework between NCCIBD and CCPIT Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee to enhance business relations, bolsters trade and investment, promote food security, and facilitate economic cooperation between the two nations.”
The ceremony concluded with a business matching opportunity between guests. – Azlan Othman
