Book on diplomats’ journeys launched

The Brunei History Centre and the Editorial Committee for the book ‘The Journey from Subok: Recollections of Brunei Darussalam’s Diplomats’ was launched on Saturday.

The book is written by eleven authors who are former High Commissioners and Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam to foreign countries.

The writing of this book serves as a token of appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bokiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, for appointing the authors as High Commissioners and Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam to foreign countries.

The ministry’s history dates back to 1981, when it was founded as the Department of Diplomatic Services. In 1984, it was upgraded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
