A 64-year-old local was ordered to settle a BND5,000 fine after he pleaded guilty to possessing hoards of alcoholic beverages at his residence.
Teo Hock Heng would have to serve five months’ jail in default of payment of the fine.
Magistrate Syaffina binti Shahif heard from the Customs prosecutor that the defendant kept 147 cans and 36 bottles of alcoholic beverages when Customs preventive officers raided his house in Kampong Sengkarai, Tutong District at 11.14am on November 13, 2021.
