A local construction company has been slapped with a BND500 compound fine by Tutong District Office’s Enforcement Unit for leaving waste in public areas.
Waste was found in areas of Kampong Luagan Timbaran, Mukim Kiudang, Tutong District, a violation under the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.
The company failing to settle the fine within seven days will be brought to court and can face BND2,000 and no more than BND10,000 fine for the first offence and a fine of at least BND10,000 and no more than BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months or both for subsequent offences.
The Tutong District Office Enforcement Unit reminded the public to maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings and public areas.
