Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad yesterday received BND15,000 in donations from various agencies for the National Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 during a ceremony at the ministry’s building.
Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin handed over BND5,000 while the Bandar Seri Begawan Chinese Chamber of Commerce Vice President Lim Ting Chai presented BND1,000.
As a philanthropist, Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin not only answered to the plight of Palestinians but also regularly provides assistance to local communities in need.
Since April 2004, Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh has been actively donating his monthly old age pension allowance to the national welfare body fund under the Community Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for nearly 20 years.
Meanwhile, the Brunei Darussalam Hokkien Association and Zulkader and Company donated BND1,000 and BND5,000.
Donations for the National Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 has been extended until April this year. – James Kon
