As the co-secretariat with the Majlis Kebangsaan Isu Sosial (MKIS), the Welfare Office of the Prime Minister’s Office showcased its social blueprint at the exhibition held alongside the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Hari Raya celebration yesterday.
The Blueprints (Manpower, Social and Economic aspects) serve as a driver for long-term policy and strategic plans that shape the direction of national development towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.
Speaking to the Sunday Bulletin, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer from the Welfare Office Dayangku Farah Amirah binti Pengiran Redzuan said His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s visit to their booth yesterday served as a kick-off platform for the social blueprint.
She said the social blueprint is one of three blueprints designed to support Brunei Vision 2035, specifically Goal 2, which focuses on a high quality of life.
“Here we want to highlight that there are four aspirations, and basically the most important thing as well from all of this, we need to define what social progress and development is first. From there, we can identify the critical domains we want to tackle, encompassing the individual, family, community, and the nation as a whole.”
She also emphasised that their guiding principles are rooted in Brunei Vision 2035 and the focus of the MKIS, aligning with the Maqasid Syariah.
