Blood stock at very low levels

The Ministry of Health announced recently that the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre in the capital and the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital Blood Bank in Belait District are seeking blood donors for all blood types.

Blood stocks are at very low levels compared to the need for blood transfusions, thus the ministry’s call on the public to donate blood to boost blood supply in the Sultanate.

Donors wishing to visit blood donation centres may book their slots through the BloodKad app.

The RIPAS Hospital Blood Donation Centre operates from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 4pm.

Suri Seri Begawan Hospital Blood Bank operates from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 11.30am and 1.45pm to 3.30pm.

Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Hospital Blood Bank operates from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 9am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The public can also donate at blood donation campaigns.

There will be a campaign at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School in Kampong Katok ‘B’ today from 9am to noon and at Unicorp Sdn Bhd in Beribi industrial complex on March 31 from 10am-3pm.
