The blood supplies at blood donation centres and blood banks nationwide are critically low, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced.
Blood types ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘O’ are urgently needed to meet the blood transfusion needs across the country, the ministry said.
In response, the blood donation centre at the Laboratory Services Department will extend its operating hours and organise blood donation campaigns. In preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, the public is urged to donate blood to help increase the blood supply in the country.
A blood donation campaign will be held at the Blood Donation Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital today from 8pm to 9.30pm.
Booking slots through the Bloodkad app prior to attending donation drives is encouraged, the MoH said. – Adib Noor
