A blood donation campaign organised by Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) Group of Companies at The Airport Mall saw 130 pints of blood being donated yesterday.
The event held in conjunction with the World Blood Donor Day saw participation from TAIB, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) management and staff as well as the public.
Perbadanan TAIB Managing Director Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, IITHSB Managing Director Hajah Nornaimah binti Haji Zainip and DHSB Acting Managing Director Pengiran Hajah Noraini binti Pengiran Haji Sablon were present.
Perbadanan TAIB Deputy Managing Director Haji Osman bin Haji Jair said, “This campaign is a response to our leadership calling for a culture of giving among staff and the public. It is part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and Perbadanan TAIB is keen to initiate community service between institutions and individuals encouraging positive contribution to the society. Blood donation is especially beneficial because it can save lives and increase blood stocks.”
He said the campaign saw an encouraging response from employees and the public, highlighting the strong motivation to do good deeds. Haji Osman also praised Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre, members of Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and Perbadanan TAIB volunteers for their efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
Perbadanan TAIB is planning to conduct more blood donation drives in the future.
