Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) employees visited 100 households to contribute relief items under its annual Sirah Amal activities.
Bank personnel also shared personal contributions and donations with the recipients, comprising BIBD ALAF students (55 houses) and underprivileged Muallaf (45 houses) through cooperation and coordination with the Islamic Da’wah Centre of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Meanwhile, a team led by BIBD Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Junaidi bin Haji Masri conducted the drive on March 22.
“Alhamdulillah, as we carry out our annual Sirah Amal activities, we are reminded of the importance of sharing our blessings with those around us.
“This is not only an act of kindness but also a fundamental principle of Maqasid Syariah, which emphasises the importance of social justice and equity.
“By sharing our blessings, we can help those who are less fortunate and contribute to building a more just and equitable society,” said BIBD Chief Marketing Officer Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd Jaafar.
She added that BIBD’s support of Maqasid Syariah, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of eradicating hunger and poverty, reflects their commitment to promoting social responsibility and sustainable development. Through their various initiatives and programmes, they have demonstrated an understanding of the importance of giving back to the community and supporting those in need as well as inspiring others to follow suit to make a difference in the country and the world.
The 13th annual Sirah Amal was carried out across all four districts, beginning on March 17 with visits to families in the Brunei-Muara District by several teams from the bank’s various divisions and concluded yesterday.
The contributions, including shopping vouchers, food and Raya items, aimed to provide support for Ramadhan and in preparation for the upcoming Syawal.
