Bleeding for a good cause

James Kon

Some 53 pints of blood were collected in a campaign organised by the Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre.

Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai and the Thai community in the Sultanate joined the blood donation drive.

The ambassador said it was her first blood donation in the country and she looked forward to joining more.

The diplomat said the event was organised to wish Thailand’s Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasariness Siripatchara Maha Watchara Ratchathida a speedy and full recovery from her illness.

The ambassador said the Thai Embassy organises blood donation drives annually for the Thai community to repay the hospitality and as an expression of gratitude to the Sultanate.
