Birthday wishes for Sultan

Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Luke Arnold

I would like to extend my best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the occasion of His Majesty’s 76th birthday anniversary.

Australia enjoys a warm and longstanding relationship with Brunei, including through our defence and security cooperation, economic partnerships and education links.

Brunei and Australia are going to be neighbours for a very long time. Our rapidly changing neighbourhood means that now is the time to take our already positive relations to the next level.

During my tenure here, I will continue to listen to the ideas of Bruneian leaders from government, business, academia and civil society on ways we can build resilience amid change, and how our countries can best cooperate for a peaceful, open and prosperous future.

Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru

On behalf of the government and people of Japan, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the occasion of the monarch’s 76th birthday. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish newly formulated Cabinet great success in the years to come.

I also like to congratulate Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Suami Abdullah Nabil Mahmoud Al-Hashimi on their marriage early this year, and wish further happiness and prosperity of the royal family.

Next year, we will mark the 50th anniversary of Japan-ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation. In 2024, Brunei will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its independence, which also marks the 40 years of friendly diplomatic relations between Japan and Brunei. Through these important occasions in the coming two years, I sincerely hope that Japan and Brunei will be able to reconfirm our shared principles and common interests, and further strengthen our bilateral relations to a new height.

Once again, I offer my best wishes to His Majesty and the people of Brunei for continued peace, prosperity and progress.

Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri

On behalf of the government and people of India, the Indian diaspora and myself, it is an immense privilege to convey our warmest congratulations and best wishes for good health and happiness to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 76th birthday.

As India’s High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, I look forward to His Majesty’s and his government’s continued guidance for progress in our bilateral relations to ensure advancement and prosperity for our nations.

The Brunei government has maintained interactions with the government of India at various platforms to further increase cooperation in many sectors ranging from agriculture, information and communications technology, capacity building to health.

This year also marks 30 years of ASEAN-India relations and is being celebrated as the ASEAN-India Friendship Year.

Under the enlightened leadership and personal guidance of His Majesty, the Sultanate has achieved remarkable success in curbing the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic by taking timely and effective measures.

I convey my sincere wishes for the continued good health and happiness of His Majesty and the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Brunei.
