On the occasion of the 76th birthday anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty.
Under the wise leadership of His Majesty, Brunei has made remarkable progress in its economic and social development of its people. Despite the impact of the pandemic, Brunei has been gathering strength in post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
China and Brunei have a long history of exchanges. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 31 years ago, bilateral relations have been consolidated constantly. Political mutual trust has been strengthened and the China-Brunei strategic cooperative partnership has been developed in a steady way.
Pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in various fields has been expanding, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
The two countries supported and helped each other in anti-pandemic cooperation, which deepened the friendship.
In 2021, even with the impact of COVID-19, China-Brunei trade reached a record high of USD2.85 billion. The entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in early 2022 has brought about broader prospects for win-win economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Last year, Brunei assumed the annual rotating chairmanship of ASEAN, and China-ASEAN relations were upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, opening up new prospects for China-ASEAN relations. China will strengthen the cooperation with Brunei, promote the Global Development Initiative, and forge united, equal, balanced and inclusive global development partnership together with a view to achieving a stronger, greener and healthier global development. China is willing to work with Brunei to explore development prospects, share growth development, and make new contribution to peace, development and prosperity.
May His Majesty enjoy good health and continued success. May Brunei enjoy greater prosperity and its people happiness and well-being. May the profound friendship between China and Brunei be everlasting.

Under the wise and benevolent leadership of His Majesty, Brunei has become one of the most prosperous and peaceful countries in the world. The country continues to stride ahead in the economic and social sectors, as evident in the high levels of education among the people, the impressive rank the country enjoys on the Human Development Index, as well as the index of the Ease of Doing Business.
In the international arena, Brunei holds a unique position as a peace-loving country with a determined resolve to pursue the path of progress.
As we commemorate the 38th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between Oman and Brunei Darussalam, we are happy to observe that bilateral relations between the two Sultanates continues to gain momentum and diversity.
It is evident in the recently concluded the Sultanate of Oman-Brunei Darussalam Cooperation Dialogue, which was jointly organised by the Embassy of Oman in Brunei Darussalam and Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and the Brunei-Oman Joint Committee meeting between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman.
We hope the dialogue has strengthened and promoted investment and higher education opportunities in our countries.
We believe that the bilateral cooperation between our countries will be fruitful and the friendship will be stronger. We are confident that Brunei will prosper and achieve even greater levels of success on all fronts, under the astute leadership of His Majesty.
We raise our hands in supplication to Allah the Al-Mighty to bless the beautiful Abode of Peace and its faithful people with peace, harmony and prosperity.
