BILIF to bring expertise to Indonesia

Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance (BILIF) and PT Fin Centerindo Satu (FIN SATU) of Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate and collaborate on human capital development in terms of leadership and Islamic finance.

Representing BILIF at the signing was its chief executive officer Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat while FIN SATU was represented by its commissioner Harianto Solichin.

The MoU was spearheaded by FIN SATU, the project owner and building manager of Menara Syariah in Indonesia. Menara Syariah is envisioned to be the centre for Syariah-based economic and educational ecosystems on both national and international scale in Indonesia.

BILIF has been selected to provide high-quality education, certification and training programmes for Indonesian professionals, particularly in leadership and Islamic finance.

Prior to the MoU signing, FIN SATU expressed interest in introducing BILIF’s executive leadership programmes, including the Young Executive Leadership Programme (YELP), Senior Executive Advanced Leadership (SEAL), and High Impact Executive Leadership (HIEL) as well the Leadership in Islamic Finance and Economics (LIFE) programme and Fiqh Muamalat Professional Programme (FMPP) to Indonesia.

Discussions have also been made on the integration of international certifications from institutions that have appointed BILIF as the official examination centre in Brunei Darussalam, such as the Chartered Banker Institute (CBI), the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the International Compliance Association (ICA), the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF).  – Azlan Othman
