The Raja Kerbau Gemilang powerboat race team from the Temburong District collected eight trophies at the Kanowit, Sarawak Festival 2024 which concluded on Sunday.
Prizes included the Challenge Trophy sponsored by their member of parliament (MP) Allan Sidin Gramong.
The team won the Challenge Trophy after emerging as champions in the ‘30hp 3 Cylinder’ category; first and second runners-up in the ‘30hp 2 Cylinder’ category; and third place in the ‘50hp 3 Cylinder’ category during the three-day competition.
Other powerboat racing teams were from Kapit, Sibu, Bintulu, Sebauh, Miri and Limbang. Twenty members of Raja Kerbau Gemilang racers took part bringing along with them six boats. – Azlan Othman
