Some 10 suspicious boxes containing 500 cartons of cigarettes were found inside two vehicles parked in the industrial areas of Kampong Lumapas on Wednesday.
The discovery was made due to the continued cooperation between the Company ‘C’ Police Reserve Unit under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces through the COVID-19 Task Force joint operation.
The boxes were found in the passenger seats and bonnets of both vehicles when Kampong Ayer Police Station was contacted to carry out an investigation at the scene of the discovery, according to the RBPF. The contraband and vehicles were seized and handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further action.
