Nine teams, comprising winners and the first merit recipients of the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2023, will represent the Sultanate in the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards in Hong Kong from today until December 8.
The teams are: Ma’had Islam Brunei with its products ‘Mr Grabbish’ and ‘Brugency’; Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College with ‘Berasap’; Sayyidina Ali Secondary School, Kuala Belait with ‘Mr Bin’; Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) with ‘River Vigilance (RV)’; Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) with ‘CareerBN’; Information Technology Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) with ‘iDentiti’; NiAT Sdn Bhd with ‘MataGrid powered by OBSERVE’ and ‘OBSERVE’; and ODE Aquaculture and Agriculture Company with ‘AIquatic Tech’.
The participants will also join students’ and business networking sessions.
Acting Assistant Chief Executive of the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) Siti Zaraura binti Haji Mohammad, as Brunei Darussalam’s executive committee member for APICTA, is leading the delegation.
Meanwhile, InfoCom Federation Brunei (IFB) Chairwoman Pengiran Sarimah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff and AITI’s senior manager Hajah Ismawati binti Haji Ismail will participate as APICTA judges. The delegation also includes Dr Yong Chee Tuan of Yi Ecomodern Solutions Sdn Bhd as APICTA advisory judge and three judges – Dr Sophiana Chua binti Abdullah of A Vision A Day Company, Pengiran Khairi bin Pengiran Haji Metussin of Mindtrex Academy and Reza Faizal bin Mohd Nor of Folec Communications Sdn Bhd.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan was among those present to see the delegation off at the Brunei International Airport.
