    BICTA alumni connect at Brunei MYCE 2022

    The BICTA Alumni Connect event was held at the Press Conference Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas, as part of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) yesterday.

    The event, which was themed ‘Connect 2022’, was organised by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and InfoCom Federation Brunei (IFB).

    Permanent Secretary at the MTIC Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof was the guest of honour.

    IFB Chairperson Pengiran Sarimah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latif in her welcoming remarks said that the event aims to highlight nine showcases from past and current BICTA participants as well as the tech community represented by Google Developers Group Brunei, Women Techmakers Brunei, BruGameDeveloper and Anak IT and the participation of the Brunei Pi Community.

    The event also saw the presentation of the BICTA Alumni letter of appointment to BICTA Alumni President Dr Yong Chee Tuan and included a roundtable discussion to develop BICTA Alumni’s mission and activities.

    BICTA Alumni aims to provide a platform for participants to engage with industry, businesses, technical leaders and investors.

    The alumni also hopes to act as a catalyst for innovative businesses to grow and contribute to the economic and societal development of Brunei Darussalam with the continuous support from government stakeholders.

    The BICTA Alumni Connect 2022 will also feature a fireside chat session today and conclude with the outcome of the roundtable discussion.
