BIBD marks 30 years with limited edition cards

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday launched a special collection of limited edition debit and credit card celebrating its year-long Mega 30 anniversary.

The unveiling at the BIBD Project Olive Innovation Lab, showcased seven unique designs representing the bank’s journey since its establishment in 1993.

Each credit card design is limited to only 300 pieces, while the debit cards are limited to 3,000 pieces with applications for cards starting yesterday.

BIBD’s Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Group Irwan bin Haji Lamit highlighted BIBD’s dedication to digital innovation and Islamic financial solutions, outlining the bank’s efforts to renew its technology and provide seamless Islamic digital banking services under the BIBD Group Project Olive digital transformation by 2025.

“Ensuring customer convenience and security remains a top priority for BIBD as it strives to deliver exceptional financial solutions to the people of Brunei,” he said.

Head of Brand Equity Management, Creative, Branding and Digital Marketing, Michaelina Lai who is behind the design said, “BIBD is heading toward digital-ready and innovation, therefore I incorporated modern design. The success also comes from teamwork, where feedback was crucial.”

Featuring vibrant designs that symbolise growth, innovation, and youthfulness, the limited edition cards align with BIBD’s future vision and values as it aspires to become a premier digital-first Islamic bank catering to Brunei’s dynamic digital economy. They also reflect BIBD’s role as an integral part of Bruneian lifestyle and heritage over the past three decades, while recognising its own contributions to the Islamic finance sector. – James Kon
