Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering for its stakeholders at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Brunei yesterday.
BIBD’s annual ‘Gema Syawal’ event celebrates the festive season and serves to strengthen bonds and express apperciation to contributors of BIBD’s strategic achievements and growth as well as the country’s development and economic well-being.
Over 2,500 guests attended, including Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, senior government officials and executives, foreign dignitaries, prominent business figures and community leaders. BIBD’s Managing Director and CEO Junaidi bin Haji Masri hosted and welcomed guests to the event.
BIBD also presented donations to Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei and BIBD Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future.
The non-governmental organisations were recognised for their work towards realising Brunei Vision 2035 in creating a progressive and sustainable future.
A significant portion of the donated funds came from the BIBD Ramadhan Eco Bazaar, held during the first week of Ramadhan this year, said the bank.
